Diabetes testing for patients using mid Essex blood testing services
We're in the process of installing new equipment in our laboratory at Broomfield Hospital, which will be up and running in early March 2025. This means that, from this week, we will temporarily be unable to process routine diabetes blood tests - also called HbA1c tests - in the laboratory, so you won't be able to book this type of test at mid Essex blood testing centres until March.
We're sorry for any inconvenience this causes and we're planning to restart HbA1c testing in March.
It is important to get help from a health professional if you experience any unusual symptoms, like dizziness, tiredness/fatigue, excessive thirst, weight loss, frequent urination (needing to pass water a lot) or infections that come back.
We will invite you for another test when routine testing at Broomfield starts again. If you would like to raise any concerns, please contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Team (PALS) visit the PALS page of Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust website here
